Domain registration is the leasing of a website's web address for a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 years. In order to own a website, you must first register a domain name.

To ensure communication over the internet, every end unit connected to this network must have an Internet Protocol (IP) address. However, since IP addresses are difficult for end users to know and memorize, the Domain Name System (DNS) was developed to translate domain names into IP addresses, facilitating communication over the internet.
Standing for ".tr Network Information System", TRABIS is the system that will be operated by the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK) and will allow ".tr" extension domain names to be obtained without requiring documentation.
According to the announcement made by BTK, TRABIS will become operational in January 2022.
With the launch of TRABIS, domain names that previously required submitting documents can now be easily obtained without providing any paperwork. Since the system will operate on a "first-come, first-served" rule, there will be a high demand for premium (special) domain names at launch.
